PRAYER EXPERIENCE – JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.
START HERE!
- TAKE A SEAT FIRST- PREPARE YOUR HEART
- Prefer not to sit in a chair? For those who want the freedom to kneel, lay, or surrender, we invite you to the Prayer Area that’s set up in the back of the room with cushions, prayer shawls, and blankets.
-
- Take a moment to confess anything that you need to confess, to prepare your heart and mind to experience God’s presence. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
THESE NEXT FEW CAN BE DONE IN ANY ORDER
THE WAY-
- LABRYINTH- grab a labyrinth from the table and find a place to sit.
- Take your finger and follow the path of the labyrinth, as you follow it in towards the middle meditate on each scripture or question, pause in the middle, and meditate on the same scripture or question as you use your finger to follow the labyrinth out.

THE TRUTH-
-
-
- MIRROR WALL– distorted mirror, regular mirror, small mirror to take home.
- First mirror- distorted- what lies have you believed about yourself? What harmful things have you spoken over yourself? This is a distorted view of how God sees us.
- Second mirror- regular mirror- here’s what God says about you.
- You are fearfully and wonderfully made- “For you created my inmost being you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”- Psalm 139
- You are a child of God- “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1
- You have a purpose- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
- You are loved- “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
- You are HIS- Do not fear. I have redeemed you. I have summoned you. You are mine” (Isaiah 43:1).
- You are not alone- Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9). You are an image bearer- “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them” Genesis 1:27
- You are precious- “Because you are precious in my sight, you are honored, and I love you.” Isaiah 43:4.
- Third mirrors- What word/truth did you need to hear? Take a small mirror and write that word on there to take home and reflect on.
- PRAY- Ask God to help you believe His truth about you.

THE LIFE
- ROCK WASHING-

-
- REFLECT
- 1 John 1:7 says, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin”.
- Psalm 85:2 “You forgave the iniquity of your people; you covered all their sin. Selah
- Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Take a rock. Write the sin that is holding you back from God on it with chalk.
- Ask God to help you overcome and forgive you for this sin.
- Take rock to wash basin and wash it off.
- A symbol of God erasing our sins.

DO THIS ONE LAST
AROMA OF CHRIST
-
-
- “ For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, 16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 2:15-17
- Paul uses this metaphor to describe how he and the other apostles spread the gospel, or “aroma of Christ,” throughout the world. The gospel is the news of Jesus’ victory over the devil. Paul and the apostles are a pleasing fragrance to the Lord, similar to the scent of animal flesh on the altar during sacrifices in the old covenant.
- Take paper cross and spray perfume on it, go out and spread the aroma of Christ.
- Exit quietly
- “ For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, 16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 2:15-17
