Part of our ethos at ENCOUNTER is focused on engaging the world. We believe the mandate spoken by Jesus in Matthew 28:16-20 to go and make disciples of all nations (or ethne in the Greek). Ethne means people groups – there are still about 6,400 people groups in the world who have little or no access to the Gospel.
As a church, we’re committed to:
- Making disciples (followers of Jesus) of all nations
- Sending skilled people to plant reproducing churches and proclaim the Gospel
- Caring for our Global Partners
- Mobilizing believers to engage in God’s global plan using their time and resources
- Advocating for the poor and oppressed by partnering with Gospel-driven compassion ministries
We are honored to parter with 20 full time cross-cultural workers who are using their skills as teachers, business men and women, doctors, technicians, pastors, peace-makers, youth workers, counselors, and church planters in a wide array of contexts around the world.
Who are the unreached?
50% of our church’s missions budget is designated to reaching the unreached – those people who have no indigenous community of Christians with adequate numbers and resources to reach their own people. Most of these people live in what’s known as the 10/40 Window. Unreached people are not “more lost” than your neighbor or family member who doesn’t know Christ. But, they are unreached in the sense that they do not have an opportunity to hear the Gospel. Most people living in the 10/40 window couldn’t find out about Jesus even if they wanted to! The majority of these people are Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists.
Prayer fuels missions
Prayer connects us with the unlimited resources of God. If you’d like to be a part of our global prayer team by praying for one global partner or one people group, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Learn more at encounterlife.org/global
Our prayers can go where we cannot…there are no borders, no prison walls, no doors that are closed to us when we pray. – Brother Andrew
