After months of searching and praying, we’ve invited Bill Heydorn to join our team as Pastor of Community Life.
Bill is married to Michelle and they have three kids; Mackenzie, Cooper, and Madison. Mackenzie is studying Youth and Family Ministry at Hope International University while interning at Eastside Christian Church in Anaheim. Cooper is a senior at Newbury Park High School where he is part of the wrestling team. After graduation, he is headed into the Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to be a combat engineer. Madison is an eighth grader who is involved in student leadership at Sequoia Middle School in Newbury Park.
Bill and Michelle have known each other most of their lives. As kids they lived on the same street and a mutual neighbor introduced Bill to faith in Christ. Bill went on to study at Hope International University (HIU), completed a business marketing degree from University of Arizona, and will be completing a Master’s degree in Christian Leadership from HIU this fall. Bill has served in youth ministry, adult ministries, small groups and teaching team roles for over 20 years. (Trivia: Bill was Adult Ministries Pastor at Cornerstone Church in Arizona where Ryan Axtell served as worship leader before coming to ENCOUNTER). Both Bill and Michelle have a heart for helping people discover their God-given purpose in life.
We’ll be introducing Bill and his family and praying together for them in our services on the weekend of February 23/24. A few questions we asked Bill:

Getting to know the incredible people of Encounter. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through all of us this year.
