The Christmas Shoppe is a vessel to spread the love of Jesus to those who are struggling financially this Christmas season. Through Christmas Shoppe, families are given the ability to provide Christmas gifts for their children. Collection boxes are placed in churches and businesses throughout the community where individuals can donate a new, unwrapped toy. ACTION (Area Christians Taking Initiative On Needs) helps identify under-resourced families and carefully selects those to invite to the Christmas Shoppe. On the day of the event, invited guests shop for new toys, sporting goods, electronics, and more at no personal cost. The Shoppe provides hospitality (snacks, refreshments) as well as childcare with crafts and activities, entertainment, photos, gift wrapping, and much more!
How you can help:
1) Bring a new unwrapped toy, electronic, sporting good, gift card etc for an infant, child, or teen by December 10 to the ENCOUNTER auditorium Collection Box. Download toy suggestions.
2) Volunteer to serve at the Christmas Shoppe which happens Saturday, December 16 at Orchard Community Church in Ventura. We need people to serve at the Shoppe by providing childcare, wrapping gifts, hosting volunteers, set up/tear down, shopper’s helper, greeters.
