ENCOUNTER

SATURDAYS AT 6PM
SUNDAYS AT 9AM & 10:45 AM

In order to do our part to help stop the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community, we have closed our campus through at least the beginning of April and moved our services online. Join us this weekend for worship, a message of encouragement, and a digital space to connect with and pray for one another.

WE ARE A CHURCH
DEFINED BY GRACE

At ENCOUNTER, we keep things simple. People matter to us, no matter what age or background. We love learning more about God and His purposes for our lives. And everything we do is a warm reminder of God’s unconditional love and acceptance.

The Elusive Inner Quality of Contentment

The Elusive Inner Quality of Contentment

We all feel the tension between gratitude and discontent. I think the author and professor, Henri Nouwen, described our struggle perfectly. “There is always the choice between resentment and gratitude … Indeed, I can choose to dwell in the darkness in which I stand, point to those who are seemingly better off than I, lament about the many misfortunes that have plagued me in the past, and thereby wrap myself up in my resentment. But I don't have to do this. There is the option to look into the eyes of the one who came out to search for me and see therein that all I am and all I have is pure gift calling for gratitude.”
