We look forward to meeting your little ones!
We have a team of loving volunteers and staff who care for your infants, toddlers, and two year-olds in our Kids’ Cove Nursery at all ENCOUNTER services. Each member of our team has been carefully screened and trained to work with children. The utmost attention is given to your infant’s needs.
Toddlers and two year-olds enjoy playtime, music, stories, and snacks. We use First Look curriculum which focuses on three key truths for your child: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever!
What To Bring
When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following:
Two or three disposable diapers. No cloth diapers, please.
Pacifier or other comfort items
A complete change of clothes
A bottle of milk, formula, juice, or water
Label all personal items with your child's first and last name.
Your Child's Health
For the protection of all children in our programs, we cannot accept a child with a runny nose, fresh cold (four days or less), fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea, or any other signs of illness.
When You Arrive
The nursery is located in the 400 Building, just off the main patio area (download a Campus Map). A leader will meet you at the check-in area to receive your child. Please note any information that will help in caring for your child such as feeding times, sleeping times, allergies, and special needs. We will give you a security number in case we need to contact you during the service. A leader will apply an adhesive nametag to your child's back with his or her name on it. You will be given a matching tag. This tag will need to be presented at the time of pick up. A child will not be released without presentation of the parents’ corresponding tag.
Snacks are provided for toddlers and two year-olds. We strive to meet the needs of each child by keeping accurate information in regards to allergies and special needs. Please inform the leader when you check in your child.
After you have completed the check-in process, simply wave a quick good-bye and leave for the worship service. It's normal for little ones to cry when leaving a parent. It doesn't last long, and separation becomes easier over time. Our leaders will immediately try to create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return after the worship service is completed. If your child cries for a period longer than 10 minutes, we will page you.
Checking On Your Child
Feel free to check on your little one at any time during the worship service. However, we ask that you do so discreetly, trying not to let your child see you.
Picking-Up Your Child
Your child's leader will expect the same person to drop off and pick up each child unless special instructions are given at check-in. Make sure that all your child's personal items have been returned to you before you leave the premises.
New Parent Room
If you would like to stay with your infant during ENCOUNTER, there is a room for new parents outside the entrance to the Auditorium for mothers to watch and listen to the service. Should you need to nurse your child during services, there is also a Nursing Mother's Room located in the Nursery.
Dedicated volunteers, willing to serve at least one ENCOUNTER service a month, are needed on a consistent basis. If you have a heart for God's precious little ones, contact Kids' Cove Nursery Director Kellianne Hern.
