We believe Jesus meant for us to respond to His commission in Matthew 28:19 when He said “go and make disciples of all nations”. Our global vision is to make Jesus known to every culture and every people. This passion is fueled by prayer for people groups, the nations, and our global partners.
We support 22 full time global partners who are involved in a wide spectrum of ministries including evangelism, church planting, leadership training, medical care, teen and collegiate outreach, community development, Muslims, missions mobilization, aviation transportation, counseling and care for cross-cultural workers. Our partners serve in the Middle East, India, Central Asia, South Asia, China, Europe, Africa, Latin America, and North America under the umbrella of these organizations.
There are still large segments of the world’s population who have never heard the name of Jesus. Unreached people lack enough followers of Christ and resources to evangelize their own people. Most of these people live in hard-to-reach areas of the world that are hostile to Christians. We focus prayer and resources to support these unreached people groups:
At ENCOUNTER, we want to mobilize our community to respond to God’s call to care for the poor, defend the cause of the fatherless, and speak up for the oppressed both locally and globally.
“Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.” – Isaiah 1:17
We partner with AJS (Association for a More Just Society). AJS supports efforts in Honduras to promote the interests of the most poor in land and labor rights, defend the rights of the most vulnerable in judicial processes, fight government corruption, and influence country-wide policy and laws on issues affecting the poor of Honduras. If you’d like to be a part of a team who lives among the poor and learns about issues of justice in Honduras, contact Lori Hahn.
